Marine terminal and port planning services have been applied to container, break bulk, general cargo and bulk facilities. The planning services have included: marketing, operational analysis, facilities planning and broad based development plans. Example - A Container Terminal Development Plan, Vancouver, CanadaA project to integrate two break bulk terminals to create an 800,000 teu container facility while continuing to handle break bulk cargoes. Example - A Break Bulk Terminal Plan, Vancouver, CanadaIncreased break bulk shipments required new warehouse facilities and a new circulation plan. Future handling of containers was taken into account and a computer simulation verified that ship waiting time would not increase significantly. Example - A Port Plan, Stewart, CanadaA gravel export development plan was the basis for sustaining bulk handling facilities which allowed continued handling of mineral concentrates and forest products. Example - A Port Plan, Tauranga, New ZealandTwo break bulk shippers needed a plan so that they could operate harmoniously at a new container terminal. Example - A Port Plan, Norterm, Vancouver, CanadaThe Port of Vancouver required assessment of the potential of a site for breakbulk and general cargo handling. A design concept and an assessment of operational capacity was prepared. |
